Mental Health Services by Mel Ricketts Psychology

A filing cabinet with drawers labeled for memories, childhood, vacations, and trauma.

Deepening my practice into trauma care is a core passion of mine. Trauma leaves your nervous system trapped in survival mode. Whether you are navigating past life events, a single incident, or medical trauma, I use specialised, trauma-focused protocols to safely take the emotional sting out of the past so you can feel secure in your body again.

For children, trauma might be expressed through repetitive play or sudden changes in behavior. As a trauma-informed therapist, I provide a safe environment to help you or your child process these experiences without feeling overwhelmed. Using trauma-focused CBT, we work to 'file away' these distressing memories so they no longer intrude on the present, allowing for a renewed sense of safety and calm.
